Do I Need ________ Insurance??

Everyone has the standard home and auto insurance and it’s obvious why you need them. But why would someone need life, health, umbrella and other insurances like that? I’ll tell you why right here:

Life
Life insurance may be costly but has a lot of benefits. It pays for final expenses such as funeral and cremation costs. It can cover mortgage balance. If you have a family and pass away suddenly, life insurance can help replace some of your income to support the family. Having life insurance also allows you to leave your belongings with a family member or friend.

Health
If you are someone who likes daily check ups with doctors, dentists, etc. then health insurance is definitely for you. Even if you are one of those stubborn people who goes once every six years just because your wife is nagging you about it, there are still benefits to having health insurance. It covers trips to the emergency room, care before your baby is born, prescription pills or drugs, lab tests, mental health and counseling, physical therapy and more!

Umbrella
What is umbrella insurance? In simple terms, it covers things that the average home and auto coverages cannot, such as a tragic accident. God forbid you hit someone with your car causing serious injury or death, the umbrella insurance will cover it. Usually they are cheap and cover millions of dollars worth of injuries/damage so even though you don’t run someone over often, it could be worth the purchase.

Pet
If you don’t have a pet, well then I wouldn’t invest in pet insurance, but if you do there are many things it covers! Everytime you take your pet to the vet (that rhymed) you can file a claim to get some money back. If an unsuspected illness happens, pet bills can get high, especially if something tragic happens. Tumor removals or radiation therapy could cost over $5,000. Pet insurance also covers the shot that puts your pet to sleep when its time on earth is over. However, pet insurance does not cover anything dental, behavioral issues or grooming.

Personal Item
You just bought the love of your life an engagement ring and she said yes! That’s awesome; congrats! She loses it three days later. To avoid flushing all that money (possibly $5,000 or more) down the toilet you could take out personal item insurance, otherwise known as “valuables insurance”. This will cover any damage, theft or loss of an item. Smart investment for an engagement ring; dumb investment for your favorite pen.
